Beihai day 3 - Lanterns on the beach

It was another sunny day in Beihai! :) We woke up, ate breakfast and relaxed a bit.
Hua's mom wanted to eat at He An again, so we went there for lunch.

Ice tea! :)

Hua ordered a whole fish for them to eat, and ate the fish head. He says the cheeks is the best part!

Me and my father in-law, Lao Lin! He is a funny, but very serious man at the same time. And my face already looks way less red than yesterday! Progress!

Litchi crushed ice for desert!

After eating, Hua and I went grocery shopping. I found this really fascinating! It's a lot of flowers and herbs you can buy to make your own tea. The flowers looked really pretty.

I am also impressed by the amount of different veggies they have. Here's just one part of them.

:* So lovely :)

After buying some veggies and fruit we went to another market to get some meat. They of course also have meat in the grocery stores, but beef is really expensive, so we went to the other market to see if we could find something cheaper!

Lots of veggies

Chickens!

And all the meat. I have never been a fan of butcher shops, and this was no exception. And in the end there wasn't any beef at all! xD

We went for some crushed ice after before heading back home.

Watermelon crushed ice! I know how to order this in Chinese :D

Later in the evening we went with his parents to one of the beaches in Beihai. There's a lot of traffic in the evening, since this is the preferred time to go out because of the cooler weather. People are even driving in the wrong direction of the road. Funny thing though, no one really cares since everyone does it!

We arrived at the beach. It was my first time here, and it was really nice! People were lighting lanterns, sending them up in the air and there was a lot of fireworks too.

This was the one we sent up!

It first flew towards the buildings on the other side of the street, but eventually the wind blew it over the water high up in the air! :)

We went for ice tea and crushed ice after. It's really nice to spend time with Hua's parents. :)

See you in the next post :D
