Beihai day 7 - New hair + visiting Hua's old school

I've been wanting to cut my hair for a very long time! I was so tired of the shorter hair in front and my split ends. And I planned before hand that I would get it cut in China. So I did!

Took a last picture of my old hair :)

So went to the hairdresser, and you get such a nice treatment! They wash your hair for at least ten minutes and massage your scalp too. They even cleaned my ears with q-tips! They also offered to give me a massage, but I rejected (which I totally regretted after by the way!)

In the chair! :)

It shows here how long it was before. I thought it would hurt a little to say bye bye to my long hair. Haven't had short hair since I was a kid! But after the hairdresser started cutting it, I didn't gave a damn xD

Chop chop! Everytime I go to the hairdresser in China, the people working there are extremely fascinated by my hair. Last year, when I got a hair dye, everyone came over to touch it. I think there was 4-5 people with their fingers in my hair at the same time ! This time 2 of the hairdressers took the hair that was cut off from the floor to study it xD

And the result! I am VERY pleased! :) Best thing, it was around 45 DKK in total!

After the hairdresser we went to Hua's old school. I saw it last year too, but only from afar, and this time we went to the school grounds.

The building where his old classroom is

His old classroom :) We couldn't get inside, but it was enough for me to just look and imagine little Hua sitting there getting teached. :)

There's also a big green area

The school has gotten bigger over the years, and now you can go here from the smaller classes up to high school. There is even dorms, where the students can live for cheap

In the evening we went for pizza! After only eating Asian food for a while, I got cravings for some Western food :)

The drinks got funky names :)

Hua's tropical juice

Just me loving my hair

And the pizza! I thought it was really good, but I kind of suspect it was because I haven't had it for such a long time. xD

After eating we went home to relax, and later in the evening we went to the night market for some noodles and beer :)

This place is really awesome! You take a basket and put in all the veggies and meat you want for your noodles and give it to the chef. Then they cook it for you and, voila! Noodles served.

And that's it for now! :D

Beihai days 5 and 6 - Relaxation !

Missed my updates? :p I have no excuse for not updating, so I'll just get right onto it!

We had a couple of absolutely chill days. We just hung out in town, went to dinner with Hua's parent's friends and went shopping for snacks!

Mango crushed ice

And watermelon crushed ice. These were actually the most boring crushed ice we had. Didn't have much taste :/

We went for dinner at a traditional Chinese restaurant. We were meeting up with Lao Lin and Lao Mao's friends like last year.

Choosing which fish we wanted :)

Shrimps too

I don't eat fish, so I was just looking. But it was still a fun experience :)

The typical table. We sit in a little room of our own with a television in the background. The waitors come in with the food and place it on the turning centre.

So much food! It was actually really fun to meet up with them again. I was less shy this time around, and even though I couldn't really speak with them, I felt like we communicated better this time.

After dinner we went to one of the couple's house. Every evening around 10 to 15 women comes over to "exercise". They walk around in a circle and does a lot of dance moves. It's a very big thing in Beihai, and probably also other places in China. Every single evening, if you drive around in Beihai, you will find groups of people dancing in synchrony. Some groups with over 30 people!

And I made 2 new friends. They were so cute :)

Relaxing in bed with magazines :)

There had been a typhoon the night before, so there was water everywhere the next morning!

We went to the arcade to play some games :)

And I also wanted to take our scooter for a ride, so we found a place for me to drive around.

Back home to cook some lunch!

This is the neighborhood the house is located in

And now I'll just spam you with pictures of some of all the different snacks you can buy in China. Om nom nom!!

See you in the next post :)

Beihai Day 4 - Aquarium!

It has been a while since my last post, but I just started in school, so I didn't have so much time.

Anyways! Day 4 in Beihai. Starting out with breakfast. And this is the dining table in Lao Lin's house :)

After breakfast Hua and I went to one of the aquariums located in the city. Beihai is a city by the beach, so there are a couple.
They also sold a lot of different things made out of seashells. It was really pretty!

Statue by the entrance

And here we are! Beihai Underwater World :)

Went in to look at the different fish :)

These fish reminds me of 'Finding Nemo'

They had a small nice outside area with goldfish and a waterfall

And someone decided to be funny and put sunglasses on one of the statues :)

Now, we came by this and it was kind of strange. There were crocodiles, but we were pretty sure they were fake. People had been throwing things at them, trying to get them to move, but they didn't move at all!

Just by the sea!

There was also a turtle house, where you could buy a stick with a fish on and feed the turtles :)

There was also an exhibition hall with stuffed sea animals that had lived in the area around Beihai.

Stopped by this cutie too!

Amazing view!

And last but not least, the underwater tunnel :)
All in all it was quite fun, but not big enough to spend more than an hour or so :/

In the evening we made dinner at home. I made some veggies and beef

We made soup

And some crab

In the evening we went for our usual drive around town and ended up buying ice tea again :)

See you in the next post :)
